추영진은 사건과 시간에 대한 지속적인 관심을 바탕으로, 일상적 관찰과 파편적인 수집을 혼합해 정보가 제거된 장면을 구성한다.
이 장면들은 특정 사건을 직접적으로 재현하기보다, 사건이 지나간 자리, 혹은 기억과 기록이 엇갈리는 지점에서 발생한 잔여물에 가깝다.
회화, 오브제, 텍스트, 기록 등 서로 다른 매체는 마치 사건을 둘러싼 서로 다른 증거물처럼 병치된다.
작가의 작업은 구상이미지의 내러티브와 추상적 화면, 사건과 기록, 진실과 허구 사이의 긴장과 충돌이 발생하는 하나의 장이자 실험의 과정으로 작동한다.


Based on her sustained interest in events and time, Choo Young-jin constructs scenes stripped of information by blending everyday observations with fragmentary collections.
These scenes are less direct reenactments of specific events and more akin to residues left behind where events have passed, or where memory and record intersect.
Different media—painting, objects, text, records—are juxtaposed like disparate pieces of evidence surrounding an event.
The artist's work functions as both a space and an experimental process where tensions and collisions arise
between the narrative of figurative imagery and abstract screens, between events and records, truth and fiction.
